Disaster Relief Operations
In its endeavour to provide succour to the victims of natural calamities, the Company engages itself in relief operations in the event of natural calamities like fire, flash floods, wind-storm, earthquakes and cloud burst etc. The Company helps victims by providing free medicines, shelter, food, blankets, utensils, clothing, tarpaulin, CGI sheets for emergency shelters and rehabilitation to safer places. The Company regularly contributes to the “CHIEF MINISTER RELIEF FUND” which is used for rehabilitation of the affected individuals.
The Company has been the first to reach remote calamity struck locations such as Malana Village, Solang Nallah, Shilla Village in Distt. Kullu, Chinchawadi and Janglikh Village of Rohru in Distt. Shimla, BruaViilage in Distt. Kinnaur, Dahar Village District Mandi, Kashaini Village in Rohru, District Shimla and Flood Victims in Suni, District Shimla. In Malana village, when fire destroyed the entire village, the Foundation provided the first relief materials such as bedding material, food and medicines, to all inhabitants besides providing financial assistance. Similarly, when fire destroyed Shilla village and Solang village in Distt. Kullu, Dahar village in District Mandi and Kashaini Village in district Shimla, the Foundation provided bedding material, food and tent to the victims. Again, when fire caused destruction to Brua village in Distt. Kinnaur, the Company provided financial assistance to the victims for their relief and rehabilitation. When heavy rains caused devastating floods in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the Company contributed considerable amount to the Chief Minister’s Relief fund State of Uttarakhand and also to the state of Himachal Pradesh through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Providing immediate succour to the victims of various calamities has been on top of the Company’s humanitarian agenda all along.
