As mentioned in the section dealing with Sai Scholarships, the company has cumulatively provided this financial support to girls in a sizeable manner as about 50 percent of all the beneficiaries are girl students.
The Company runs a senior secondary school at Dharampur in Mandi district. The admission to class IX in school is governed by an entrance test conducted all over the State. The criteria for writing the test include only an income ceiling and none from the family should be in government employment. It is heartening to undertake that 50% of all the students from grade IX to XII are girl’s majority of which come from the most backward and remote areas of the State.
The company also runs an Industrial Training Institute at Dharampur. Over 26% of the students are girls. This is because 3 out of 4 trades being run largely attract male students.
